Committee on Computing
& Educational Technology [CCET] [website]

The Committee on Computing and Educational Technology, co-chaired by the Executive Director of Computing and Information Services and an elected faculty member, is charged by the Governance "to advise the Dean of the Faculty on issues concerning academic computing and educational technology...and the incorporation of technology into the educational program of the College" ("Bylaws," Art. II Sec. 19). The committee formulates general computing policy and also makes specific appropriation decisions in the spring.

Leadership in planning, implementing, an sustaining information technology services are the principle duties of this committee. Vassar's administrative computing is based on SCT's Banner ™ software. The College's infrastructure includes over 2000 computers, 80 servers, and a switched, high-speed Ethernet campus network.

Banner Implementation Steering Committee [BISC] [website]

BISC was originally founded to oversee the implementation of SCT Banner, an integrated suite of applications to support the college's administrative needs.
