II Sec. 19). The committee formulates general computing policy and also makes specific appropriation decisions in the spring.
Leadership in planning, implementing, an sustaining information technology services are the principle duties of this committee. Vassar's administrative computing is based on SCT's Banner ™ software. The College's infrastructure includes over 2000 computers, 80 servers, and a switched, high-speed Ethernet campus network.
BISC was originally founded to oversee the implementation of SCT Banner, an integrated suite of applications to support the college's administrative needs. BISC continues to be active reviewing and setting of administrative computing priorities for new projects and enhancements to the existing infrastructure.
