Meg is the Academic Computing Consultant for Geographical Information Systems (GIS). She maintains the GIS Lab and can help you with your research or teaching needs as they relate to technologies for mapping.

Meg provides support for the following departments:

Geology :: Geography :: Environmental Studies:: Urban Studies

Background:

Realizing that the environmental consulting world was no place for her, Meg took her experience as a project manager for the Corps of Engineers with her to work at Vassar College in1998. She helped get a fledgling GIS lab in Ely Hall up and running. While at Vassar, Meg has created a GIS-based environmental inventory of the Mid-Hudson Valley, which was a project funded by the EPA. Along with two faculty members and a student, Meg has written a GIS laboratory manual, published in2004 by McGraw-Hill. Always a geologist "deep-down", Meg has a Master's degree in structural geology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. However, she supports everyone on campus in their pursuit for quality computer mapping of data for their research or teaching purposes.
