CIS maintains a small laptop loaner pool for short-term loan (up to two weeks) to faculty for special use. Loans are made on a first-come-first-serve basis and subject to availability. Demand during academic breaks can be quite high and therefore reservations should be made well in advance. Requests for longer periods (such as summer travel or sabbatical leave) should be made in advance to the Associate Dean of the Faculty for approval.
CIS has a limited number of digital cameras, both still and video, that may be borrowed for use by faculty and students for academic projects. Students must have a faculty sponsor in order to sign our equipment. The loan period of cameras is 3-4 days.
Individuals are responsible for all costs associated with any damage to, replacement of and/or theft of any laptop, digital or video camera checked out.
Student DJ System consists of a power amp with one pair of main speakers and one pair of subwoofers includimg the cabling necessary to connect these components. In order to use this system, the DJ must be prepared to supply their own microphone, mixer and audio input devices such as turntables, disc players, etc.
Student Band System is intended for use by campus bands. Please note that the system does not include a sound monitor. If you have questions regarding whether the equipment is suitable for a particular location, please contact the Media Resources Workshop at X7479 and speak to one of our trained technicians.
