• Assist Vassar faculty members to identify needs that strengthen the teaching and learning process
• Identify instructional technologies that enable faculty members to meet those needs
• Implement, develop and broker concrete solutions to those specific needs
• Provide leadership and expertise in the management of collaborative academic projects
• Facilitate and enable communication between the various college constituencies
• Manage specialized computing facilities (Sci Vis Lab, GIS lab), and general campus IT resources (Blackboard, faculty websites, image databases, specialized software, etc.)

Each academic department or program has a computing professional who is familiar not only with technology, but also with the discipline-specific problems and opportunities of the areas that they support.
