A. Student access all Blackboard courses by going to http://blackboard.vassar.edu. Their user id is the same as their Vassar email user id and their initial password is their student ID number.

A. You have one Blackboard account for the whole time you are enrolled at Vassar. If you have changed your password in the past, you will be using the changed password. If you can't remember your password, click on the "Forgot your password?" link on the login page.
A. To change the email address listed for you within Blackboard, log into Blackboard. Under the Welcome tab, in the Tools section, click on "Personal Information". Then click on "Edit Personal Information". Enter your new email address and click "Submit".
A. First, make sure the emails are going to the same address you are checking. Ask your professor to check the email address specified for you in Blackboard.
A. Your professor can add you to the course student roster, or have your professor contact Blackboard Support with your full name, course ID and title.
A. Contact your professor, and have them remove you from the class roster.
A. PC Users: Right click on the link. Choose "Save Target As". Give the file a name and save it on the desktop. Then go to the desktop of you computer and double-click on the file to open it in Word.
Mac Users: Hold down the Control key and click on the link. Choose "Download Link to Disk". Give the file a name and save it on the desktop. Then go to the desktop of your computer and double click on the file to open it in Word.
Some students attempting to access e-reserves via blackboard may be prompted for a password.
This is generally caused by a personal firewall installed on the student computer blocking referrer information.
Passing referrer information to specific Web pages in Norton Internet Security and Norton Personal Firewall
Some Web pages require referrer information before allowing you to view their page. If you want to allow referrer information to pass to a particular Web page, you must create a rule for it.

To create a rule that permits referrer information
1. Open Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall.
2. Do one of the following:
• In Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall 2003: Click Options > Internet Security, and then click the Web Content tab.
• In Norton Internet Security or Norton Personal Firewall 2004 or newer: Double-click Privacy Control, and then click Advanced.
3. In the bottom of the Advanced window, click Add Site.
4. In the New Site/Domain box, type the name of the site that you want to receive the referrer information (vassar.edu) and click OK.
The site name appears in the left frame of the Options window.
5. Click the name of the new site.
6. On the Global Settings tab, under the Information about visited sites section, uncheck Use default settings.
7. Click Permit.
8. Click OK to close the Options window.
