Using Citrix Metaframe-based Software

Vassar College provides network served licenses for SPSS, SAS, JMP, and Mathematica via the Citrix Metaframe server. Citrix Metaframe is a centralized applications server that allows easy access to full-featured Windows applications using any platform. Programs available on Citrix are fully functional and offer the same interface and features as those that are installed locally.

Think of Citrix as a virtual workspace where you can use programs that are not even installed on your personal computer.

You can access Citrix-Based applications on any computer from anywhere by using the web-based application,

Windows on the Web

Or you can use a client locally installed on your machine,

Install a plug-in on your local machine

Users must have a domain password. Applications run from Citrix will work exactly like applications installed locally.

The information provided below applies to all academic software that runs on the Citrix Metaframe server. If you have specific questions about software running on Citrix, contact an Academic Computing Consultant in CIS or ACS@vassar.edu
