How do I see all of my folders in Webmail?
- Log onto Webmail at https://webmail.vassar.edu to see the folders that contain the mail you wish to edit.
- Choose Folders
- In the Unsubscribe/Subscribe
- Hit the Submit button.
- In the left hand frame, click the ‘refresh folder list’. (The folder you subscribed to should now display.)
How do I display more email messages in Webmail?
- Log onto Webmail at https://webmail.vassar.edu
- Then from the top of the window, choose ‘Options’
- Under the ‘Display Preferences’ under the Mailbox Display Options section, note the ‘Number of Messages to Index:” and put in 400
- Click the ‘Submit’ button.
- This will then display the first 400 messages.
Then you have the option to review the messages and delete those you no longer need.
How do I set an alert for new messages in Webmail?
- Log onto Webmail at https://webmail.vassar.edu
- From the top of the screen select Options
- Select Folder Preferences
- Select Folder List Options
- From the Enable Unread Message Notification: select All Folders.
- An audible alert, is configured under NewMail Options.
How do I set a vacation or away message?
- Please log into the Vassar ControlPanel at https://controlpanel.vassar.edu to change the Out of Office notification
- Click on the words: Email forwarding and Out-of-Office/Vacation message
- Check the ‘Enable Out-of-Office/Vacation message’
- Type in your message (ie: dates, times you will be away and who else they can contact)
- Click the ‘Update’ button
**Remember: when you return to select the ‘Email Forwarding and/or Out-of-Office/Vacation Message disabled’ and ‘update’**
How can I sort my email in Webmail?
The three ways you can sort your e-mail: 1. Sender (From) 2. Date 3. Subject
In order to sort your e-mail, click on the box next to each title.
- Click once to sort descending
- Twice for ascending
- Three times returns to the default settings.
How do I change my Vassar email password?
- Please log into the Vassar Control Panel at : https://controlpanel.vassar.edu
- Click on Change Password. (We recommend that you synchronize your passwords including: Email * Vspace * Domain * Citrix/Metaframe * Blackboard passwords to one single password)
- To keep them separate select “I need to keep my passwords separate” and select or check the passwords you wish to change or to change all of them enter your password choice using the required criteria, then enter it again.
- Click the “Change All Passwords” button.
I just got a quota warning for my Webmail account. How can I fix that?
Log into your webmail account and delete any messages you don’t need from all of your folders. (This includes the Sent folder and the Drafts folder.)
Make sure you Subscribe to all your folders
Once you’ve deleted anything, remember to click on the ‘purge’ link next to Trash in the left-hand menu bar.

pop.vassar.edu
Outgoing Server:
smtp.vassar.edu
If you live off campus, you might need some of the off-site outgoing (smtp) server information.
