Vassar's NameConnector Service

The NameConnector service is a voice automated directory system. By dialing "0" you can connect to a student, faculty, staff, or department. When prompted, clearly say the first and last name of the individual or name or department. Your personal information is provided through your official Vassar records, so if you ask for yourself and it sends you to the wrong extension, you should ensure that your information appears correctly in AskBanner.

Tips

Try using a formal name: Robert Smith instead of Bob Smith
Speak Naturally: It isn't necessary to pause between words
Be aware of background noises: Cell phones and speakerphones distort the sound and affect the response time and recognition accuracy.
Questions? Just say "operator" to be connected to a live person from 8:30-4:30 M-F.
