Avoiding INBOX/ Labels

Moving Folders To The Root Level

  1. Log on to webmail.vassar.edu
  2. Look at your folder structure.  
    If your folders are nested below inbox as shown here, then you will need to move them to the root level will avoid your Google labels from beginning with INBOX/. If you leave them nested, this is how they will appear in Google after the migration.  Of course, you can easily rename them at any time.

  3. To move your folders, simply Right-Click or Control-Click on any one of the folders you need to move.  Click Move on the menu.

  4. Choose the root level which is called Folders.  Click OK.

  5. Do this for all fo the folders you wish to move.
  6. Re-examine your folder structure.
    Your folders should now be at the same level as the inbox as shown here. Now, after the migration to Google, the label names will appear as shown here.
