Drivers for Department Printers

Before You Begin

Before you begin you will need the IP address of the printer you are installing.  The IP address should be printed and displayed on your printer.   If it is not, you can contact the Help Desk or get it from another colleague who already has the printer installed.

Mac OS Instructions

  • Download the Mac driver here
  • Double-Click to unzip 
  • Double-Click the UFRII_v2.27_MacOSX.dmg to open the install folder 
  • Double-Click the UFR II Installer.mpkg to run the installer

  • Click Continue

  • Click Continue

  • Click Install

  • Authenticate with your computer's user name and password to allow the installation

  • The driver installation is complete.  Click Close.

  • Go to System Preferences > Print & Fax

  • If you have the old version of the printer, click on it and and click - to delete it.  
    Then click + to add a new printer.

  • Click IP 
  • Enter the IP address that was printed on your department printer in the Address: field

  • Name the printer (a good name is "Your Department Name - Canon")

  • At the "Print Using..." drop down and choose "Select Printer Software..."

  • Type in the search field to search for "Canon iR3235/iR3245 UFR II (US)".  
    Choose it and click OK.

  • Click "Add"For Output options, choose "Finisher S1".  Click Continue.

  • Your new department canon has been successfully installed! 

 


    Windows Instructions

    • You should delete the old printer by going to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > View Devices and Printers or Start > Devices and Printers
    • Download the Windows Driver here
    • Double-Click to open the zip
      • Click Extract

      • Your Vassar-owned computer likely has a folder called CIS Printer Drivers folder in the root C: and you should extract the files to there

    • Go to Start > Devices and Printers

    • Click Add a Printer

    • Click Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer

    • Click Add a printer using TCP/IP address or hostname

    • Enter the IP address that was printed on your department printer in the Printer Name or IP Address: field.

    • The printer has been installed.  Click Next

    • If you would like this to be your default printer, check the box to Set as the default printer. Click Finish
