SPSS is predictive analytics software.  Predictive analytics is an area of statistical analysis that deals with extracting information from data and using it to predict future trends and behavior patterns. The core of predictive analytics relies on capturing relationships between explanatory variables and the predicted variables from past occurrences, and exploiting it to predict future outcomes.  Vassar College supports SPSS 19  for OSX 10.6, Windows XP, and Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit). 

Click the appropriate title below for installers and instructions for your Operating System. You will have to authenticate to VSpace with your Vassar user name and password.  Downloads are only available to faculty, staff and administrators for use on Vassar-Owned computers.

1. Download the installer for Mac OS.
2. Once downloaded, double-click the downloaded file to unzip.
3. Open the extracted MacOS folder and double-click on the installer file SPSS_Statistics_Installer
4. Select Network license for license type.
     
    
5. Enter applicsvr01.vassar.edu for License Manager name or IP Address.
     

• For personal computers you may use VApps (Short for Vassar (Virtual) Applications) to obtain web browser access to SPSS, both on and off-campus.   Click here for VApps instructions.
