Telecommunications encompasses a variety of systems and services at Vassar.   The Telecommunications Office is part of Computing and Information Services and is housed in the Computer Center.

Campus Phone and Voicemail:

If you are an employee of Vassar College, you likely have a fancy looking telephone sitting next to your computer.  Click here for all you need to know about it.

Name Connector (Parlance):

The Name Connector (sometimes referred to as "Parlance") is an automated directory system using voice recognition technology. Click here to learn more about Name Connector.

Employee Call Authorization Codes:

You can not dial long distance calls from your campus phone without a call authorization code.  Business and personal codes can be issued for long distance and international calls.  Click here for information on obtaining these codes.

Cell Phone Policy:

Vassar College no longer owns cellular telephones or PDAs, or contracts with cellular providers for monthly service for cellular phones or PDAs.  Instead, those employees who have a documented business need for a cellular telephones or PDA will receive a taxable allowance for such service as described below.  Click here for frequently asked questions about Vassar's Employee Cellular Phone Policy.
